Dutch for German speakers

Explore Dutch in a course that builds on the strong similarities between German and Dutch for a smooth learning experience. This course is designed for German speakers of at least B2 level.

Because German and Dutch share many similarities, we offer a dedicated Dutch course designed specifically for German speakers, allowing them to progress more quickly and efficiently. From the very first group lesson an experienced teacher will help you to build your vocabulary and understand how the language works. The course focuses on speaking and listening skills. Reading and writing are supporting skills that you mainly practice at home.  Additional work on grammar, as well as reading and writing skills, will support you in the language learning process. Your teacher is a native speaker, and the group lessons will be conducted in Dutch. Instructions will only be given in English if it's absolutely necessary.

The course is available in different CEFR levels, from beginner (A1&A2) to upper intermediate (B2). For Dutch C1minus and C1, check our regular Dutch courses.

Course level check

If you are a German speaker (with at least level B2) and you have no prior knowledge of Dutch, you can simply register for Dutch A1+A2.

Please send an email to languages-intake-NL and indicate which course level you wish to follow, your current level and propose several available dates and times. They will get in touch to advise the correct course. If needed an online meeting will be scheduled. The outcome of the course level check is final (cannot be discussed). If necessary, we will change your registration accordingly.
