Academic writing for PhD candidates and Master’s students (health sciences)

For PhD and master's students in the health field, we offer an academic writing course in which you will improve your writing skills. You will focus on structuring your ideas on paper and using an academic writing style. Afterwards you will feel more confident when writing scientific texts in English.

Our online and on campus academic writing courses were originally developed for PhD and Master’s students at the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Life Sciences. Master and PhD students from outside Maastricht University are also welcome if their study is in the health field. For master and PhD students from other faculties, we offer a separate course.

In this hands-on program, you’ll write your own texts, review key literature, refine your drafts, and strengthen your grammar. You’ll also learn to recognize the essential features of well-crafted published articles. Throughout the course, you’ll submit work to an expert tutor and receive detailed, personalized feedback. Plus, you’ll engage in productive peer-review sessions, giving and receiving insights that help sharpen your writing even further.
